Since human and financial resources are limited, determining research priorities is of great importance to us. We believe national and regional research orientation must target major health problems and at the same time with enough flexibility allow for persuasion of researchers’ interests toward cutting edge science. Fasa NCD research center have made an effort accordingly to clearly delineate and announce its research priorities based on WHO’s COHRED (Council Of Health Research for Development) model. We went through a five step approach to define stakeholders and institute’s needs (based on focused group discussions), determining research questions and scoring them upon importance, relevance, feasibility and final impact and eventually announcing research priorities.
