Considering the heavy burden of non-communicable diseases all over the world and in developing countries, including Iran, Fasa University of Medical Sciences took the responsibility of creating a dedicated research center related to non-communicable diseases to regularly conduct disease research activities. non-contagious to perform duties.
From November 2013, with planning and coordination with the Ministry of Health's research and technology department, a population-based cohort study with more than 10,000 participants in the age group of 35-70 years was launched under the supervision of this center. The study will take at least 15 years. After 23 months from the beginning of the study, 10,157 participants in Shashada and Qarabalag regions were included in the study. People's information was collected and recorded electronically through detailed questionnaires, measurements and interviews. Also, at the same time, the Youth Cohort Study on Mental Illness was launched with the participation of 3200 people in the age group of 15 to 35 years in the same region. The main results of interest in this cohort are psychological problems and addiction.
