Fasa Youth Cohort Study

The Fasa Youth Cohort Study was launched on May 17, 2015, at the Sheshdeh Cohort Center. During the enrollment phase, a total of 3,000 participants were recruited, including 1,500 individuals from rural areas surrounding Sheshdeh and 1,500 individuals from the urban population of Fasa County.

At the baseline visit, comprehensive demographic, psychological, and general health questionnaires were completed for each participant. In addition, blood and urine samples were collected and stored for future research. The enrollment phase was successfully completed on May 17, 2017.

Following the baseline assessment, participants were followed through telephone interviews conducted every other year between in-person visits to update their health status and medical information. After completing several rounds of in-person assessments and interim telephone follow-ups, the Fasa Youth Cohort Study was successfully concluded.
