Six FUMS Faculty Members Named Among the World’s Top Two Percent Most-Cited Researchers
The President of Fasa University of Medical Sciences stated that, with the release of the **2025 World's Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists** list, six faculty members of the university have been recognized among the world's top 2% most-cited researchers.
According to the Fasa Webda News Agency, Dr. Babak Pezeshki, President of Fasa University of Medical Sciences (FUMS), stated that, based on Elsevier's latest annual report on researchers' citation performance for 2025, which is derived from citation indicators indexed in the Scopus database, Dr. Mojtaba Farjam, Dr. Reza Tabrizi, Dr. Mahmoud Owsanlou, Dr. Azizollah Dehghan, Dr. Abdolmajid Ghasemian, and Dr. Elham Zare-Nejad, faculty members of FUMS, have been recognized among the world's top 2% most-cited scientists.
He added that, according to the report published in the journal PLOS on September 19, 2025, two datasets were presented. The first dataset evaluates researchers based on their career-long citation impact through the end of 2024, reflecting the long-term scientific performance of researchers. The second dataset assesses researchers based on their single-year citation impact using citation data for 2024.
Dr. Pezeshki further noted that 2,533 Iranian scientists were included in the list of the world's top 2% most-cited scientists based on their 2024 citation performance, while 1,201 Iranian scientists were recognized based on their career-long citation impact.
He emphasized that this achievement reflects the international scientific impact of FUMS and the university's continued contribution to producing high-quality and influential scientific knowledge.
Notably, Dr. Mojtaba Farjam, Dr. Reza Tabrizi, and Dr. Mahmoud Owsanlou have been recognized among the world's top 2% most-cited scientists for the third consecutive year.
